Hok Lai Timber (M) Sdn. Bhd . is solely owned by Mr. Per Eng Lee, Managing Director of the company. Under his stewardship, the company experienced a rapid growth from a small sawmill to one of the largest veneer lamination exporters in Malaysia. Incorporating over 20 years of experience in the timber industry and applying advanced technology, Hok Lai Timber (M) Sdn. Bhd. has been satisfying international demand for veneered products. Today, we are proud to be the employer of over 100 skilled employees in two factories.

Hok Lai Timber, then Syarikat Kwong Fook Hing Sdn. Bhd. that solely focused on sawlog timber, can trace its roots back to 1994, when Mr. Per foresaw the potential demand for veneer-lamination timber board in growing number s of international markets. He started to diversify the company¡¯s operations by mastering a range of slicing methods. Today, the production of sliced veneer and veneer lamination has become the core business of the company.

As Hok Lai Timber has grown to become one of the major veneer suppliers, the management has adopted new technology to increase production volume as well as bring profit and recognition in the timber industry.

I n 1996, we formed a quality-control team to ensure consistent performance in response to Mr. Per¡¯s insistence on product quality . As a result, the company now enjoys a reputable standing in the industry.

To meet the quality criteria required for the company¡¯s diverse clienteles, both local and foreign, Hok Lai Timber supply both temperate and tropical Malaysian timber veneer such as Beech, Cherry, Mahagony, Makore, Red Oak, Sapele, Teak, White Ash, Bintanggor, Kasah, Kembang Semangkok, Meranti, Merbau, Mersawa, Nyatoh, Penarahan, Rubberwood (finger-joint) and Surian.
